About Us...

We have been involved with Afghan hounds for over 30 years now, acquiring our first dog in 1972 while attending the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto; at that time we were showing horses but always wanted an Afghan. Our 1st litter was in 1974 and we became a registered kennel, “ OBIWAN “ in 1978 when we became more interested in showing the dogs. Since then we have bred 57 Canadian and 17 American Champions from our small breeding program. In that group there have been 5 All Breed Best in Show winners and several specialty winners, in 1992 we added Chinese Cresteds to our home. We have had a couple of litters, finished a few champions, and had a couple of group winners in this wonderful little breed. Doug started judging in 1993 and is now an All Breed Judge and Avery started in 1995, and is approved to judge 5 Groups. We have both judged several Afghan and Sighthound Specialties. We have had the privilege of judging in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Ireland. We really enjoy meeting people and judging dogs in different areas of the country and are looking forward to our future assignments.
